SAN DIEGO – Feb. 3, 2014 – The Ronald McDonald House Charities/Hispanic Commitment to Education Resources (HACER) scholarship is accepting applications from now until April 15. Through the scholarship, 10 San Diego County students of Hispanic descent will each be awarded $2,000 toward college expenses.
High school seniors who have at least one parent of Hispanic/Latino origin, and who have strong academic performance and a personal drive to give back to the community are invited to submit applications. Applications must be postmarked by April 15, 2014.
The national HACER scholarship program began in 1985 and since then more than $24 million in scholarships have been awarded. Through the local HACER program, hundreds of San Diego County high school students have received funds to help them achieve a higher education.
