McDonald’s® Introduces Real Fruit Smoothies to its Successful Line of McCafé® Beverages
SAN DIEGO – July 6, 2010 – McDonald’s is introducing a line of Real Fruit Smoothies, flavorful, icy treats made with real fruit and low-fat yogurt, and is offering social media fans an exclusive sampling at the San Diego tweetup on July 16.
McDonald’s Smoothies are made from a creamy blend of real fruit – strawberries, bananas, blueberries and blackberries – and low-fat yogurt. The frosty drink is also available without yogurt and comes in three icy cool sizes – small (12 ounces), medium (16 ounces) or large (22 ounces). McDonald’s customers can choose between two Smoothie flavors – Strawberry Banana and Wild Berry.
McDonald’s is hosting a Tweetup in San Diego to allow interested customers a free sample of the newest addition to the successful line of McCafé beverages. Tweetup attendees will have a chance to sample the smooth and creamy new drinks and opportunities to win free McDonald’s prize packs for tweeting about their experience.
“McDonald’s always strives to offer customers a variety of food and beverage items to fulfill their needs and satisfy their taste buds,” said Philip Palumbo, president of the McDonald’s Owner/Operator Association of San Diego County. “Adding Real Fruit Smoothies to the menu means customers have a healthy and flavorful beverage option to enjoy with breakfast, their favorite Extra Value Meal® or as a satisfying midday snack.”
The San Diego McDonald’s Smoothie Tweetup will be held Friday, July 16 at 10:30 a.m. at McDonald’s located at 9871 Aero Drive in San Diego.
